Access control breaks down as infrastructure grows — Axidian at CIO Conclave

Axidian took part in the CIO Conclave & Award in India, an event that brings together technology leaders working with large and often complex infrastructures.

At the event, Axidian was represented by BD Software Distribution Pvt. Ltd. — a value-added distributor established in 2016, working with enterprises, SMBs, and government organizations across India. With teams in Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, BD Software is involved in projects at different stages, from rollout to ongoing operations.

Access management tends to grow unevenly across systems

In most environments, access control doesn’t evolve as a single, consistent layer. Some systems are tightly managed, others rely on decisions made at different points in time.

MFA may exist, but not everywhere it should, and visibility into how privileged accounts are used is often incomplete. Over time, this leads to a situation where access is widespread, but control over it varies depending on the system.

Fragmentation makes existing controls harder to use

Most organizations already have security tools, internal policies, and compliance requirements in place. The challenge appears when these elements need to work together.

As infrastructure grows, systems are introduced and managed independently. Connections between them are not always aligned, which makes access harder to track and slows down understanding of what actually happened during an incident.

Direct conversations make these gaps visible

Events like CIO Conclave give space for discussions that don’t follow a formal structure. People tend to describe what’s happening in their environments as it is, including the parts that don’t work as expected.

These exchanges make it easier to see where gaps appear and where additional structure is needed to maintain control.

Strong local partners help navigate real environments

Working with BD Software Distribution Pvt. Ltd. helps us stay close to how projects are handled in practice.

Their involvement at the event kept discussions grounded in real use cases and current infrastructure setups. We appreciate the work the BD Software team put into these conversations, as well as the opportunity to be part of the event.
