Ahead of CyberSec India EXPO 2025 (June 11–12), we spoke with our new partner BD Software about the fast-changing cybersecurity needs in India.
Zakir Hussain Rangwala, Chief Executive Officer at BD Software Distribution Pvt. Ltd., explained why identity security is now a critical gap for many Indian organizations, what stood behind the decision to partner with Axidian and how we’re preparing for the upcoming event together.
What helped BD Software earn its reputation as a trusted cybersecurity partner in India?
We’re an IT-security distribution company based in Navi Mumbai, but our work spans the entire country. We focus on bringing reliable, effective security solutions to organizations of all sizes — from large enterprises and government departments to SMBs and educational institutions.
Today, our portfolio covers a broader cybersecurity spectrum including data protection, endpoint detection, and now identity security. What sets us apart is that we don’t just push products, we focus on fit, understanding real customer challenges, and making security solutions accessible and usable.
In your view, what truly sets the Indian cybersecurity market apart — regulation, mindset, or structure?
It’s a combination, but mindset and structure are the big ones. India is a highly diverse market — you have global enterprises with mature security stacks and, at the same time, SMBs who are still figuring out what “access control” actually means. Regulations are evolving, but the real challenge is scale and awareness.
Many companies still see cybersecurity as a cost center, not as a business enabler. Our role — and that of our partners — is to change that mindset and offer solutions that match where each organization is in their journey. One-size-fits-all just doesn’t work here.

How does Axidian complement your existing security portfolio — what gap does it fill?
With Axidian we’re able to address a layer that was underrepresented in our portfolio: identity and access governance. We had strong endpoint and data protection tools, but what was missing was a clean, modular way to help customers manage who has access to what, when, and how. Axidian fills that gap.
Their approach to MFA, PAM, and access control fits perfectly for Indian enterprises that need more than just compliance — they need practical control over digital identities. For us it’s a strategic addition that strengthens the full story we bring to our partners and clients.
What are you hoping to learn or validate at CyberSec India EXPO — from customers, partners, or the industry at large?
CyberSec India EXPO is a great chance to have real, grounded conversations — not just about tech, but about where the market is heading. We want to hear directly from CISOs and IT leaders: what’s keeping them cautious, where they’re ready to move fast, and how identity security fits into their broader roadmap.
It’s also the perfect opportunity to officially announce our partnership with Axidian and stand side by side at an event. We see this as much more than an exhibition; it’s a space to test ideas, validate needs, and align our message with what the Indian market truly cares about right now.
